Opera tragedy in two acts. It was first performed at the Teatro Carcano in Milan in 1830.
The protagonist is the unfortunate second wife of Henry VIII (after his divorce from Catherine of
Aragon), who in turn becomes a victim of the King’s fickleness when he falls in love with Joan, the
young servant of the sovereign. Anne Boleyn kept her dignity as a Queen intact until her death,
even forgiving the new couple.
“… to my long agonies, grant at last rest”
A prayer to the last hole of the course, a Par 3 in strong ascent, which leaves you literally breathless.
